NEW YORK (January 22, 2015) – Kellen Company, a global leader in association services, concluded its 50th year of service in December with commemorative events in each of its seven offices around the world and launched into 2015 by announcing the acquisition of The Sherwood Group in Chicago, further expanding its presence in the market and expertise in the scientific and medical sectors.  Founded in 1964 as a small association management firm in Chicago, IL, Kellen Company has grown over the past five decades to include more than 300 employees servicing over 125 organizations worldwide, making it the largest global association management company in the industry.

Highlights from the company’s 50th anniversary year include an inaugural Kellen U.S. industry conference called Associations: 2020 and Beyond in New York City; publication of the first Kellen International Social Media Report; the 14th annual Kellen EuroConference in Brussels; acquisition of AGEP in Brussels making Kellen the largest management firm globally for associations in the food industry; and the acquisition of Denver-based Resource Center for Associations and The Sherwood Group, further strengthening Kellen’s expertise in medical, scientific and publishing sectors.

“The past year really was a banner year for Kellen, in every respect.  In addition to our ongoing expansion, it continues to be an honor to partner with the many dedicated groups of volunteer leaders and to work with our passionate, professional staff,” said Peter Rush, chairman and CEO of Kellen Company.  “We have worked diligently to forge paths of innovation as our industry evolves and provide customized solutions to the challenges of associations.  Many members of our management team have been part of Kellen Company for over 20 years; it’s a unique and compelling testament to the company and its culture.”

With dedicated practice groups and deep expertise in the areas of food and nutrition; medical and technology, health and wellness; building and construction; media; and science and energy; among others, today Kellen Company provides association management, meetings, communications, digital, regulatory and strategic services to nonprofits and corporations alike, with a number of client partnerships dating back to the very beginning.

“Working with Kellen Company over the past several decades has been one of the finest experiences of my professional life.  Having been in business and interacted with a tremendous amount of groups over the years I can say that Kellen stands heads and shoulders above any organization.  The level of professionalism and high caliber of talent is exceptional; they have always listened and responded flawlessly.  Whether our work together is on a large industry trade association or developing a small council, Kellen is supportive and creates an outstanding experience.  They have been a critical partner over the years, listening to our concerns, taking input graciously, and giving top notch service that has enabled our industry as well as individual companies to grow," said Wendell Christoff, vice chairman and co-founder of Litehouse Foods and board member of the Association for Dressings & Sauces.

“It has been extraordinary to be a part of this company’s growth from near the beginning -- when the company relocated from Chicago to Atlanta -- to the industry leader it has become today,” said Rick Cristol, president of Kellen Company.  “We were a small shop then with nine people managing five associations.  While our growth has been dramatic, our clients and their needs continue to evolve, as do our resources and solutions.  Our depth of experience and talent is unparalleled and I look forward to seeing what the future brings for our industry.”
