Team San Jose

Team San Jose
Company Description:

Team San Jose serves as the primary driver in generating economic impact to San Jose’s local economy through business and leisure travel. We act on the City’s behalf to promote San Jose as a destination and to manage the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, California Theatre, Center for the Performing Arts, City National Civic, Montgomery Theater, South Hall and Parkside Hall. Our innovative partnership unifies the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau, hotels, arts, labor and venues to deliver an exceptional visitor experience and serve as the gateway to San Jose as a destination.

Located just 3.9 miles from downtown, Mineta San Jose International Airport is your portal to the heart of Silicon Valley. The airport’s $1.3 billion modernization makes it one of the nations greenest, most efficient, and modern airports. San Jose’s Airport recently added non-stop international service to London, Beijing, Frankfurt and Vancouver and is adding domestic service to Baltimore-Washington and Salt Lake City later this year.

Hotel rooms are always close with 2,200 committable rooms within walking distance from the convention center and a total of 8,000 rooms available citywide.

Services and Extras:

Planners can also benefit from the luxury of Team San Jose’s innovative and pioneering one stop-service, a testament to 100 percent of meeting planners and tradeshow executives wanting to return. Rather than handing planners off to other organizations once the meeting is booked, San Jose does it all, from housing, convention center and facility event services to customized food and beverage menus, permits, marketing support and special events.

Upon arrival, find comfort in San Jose’s free Wickedly Fast Wi-Fi, the nations best free Wi-Fi experience. Our Wi-Fi service extends from the airport, throughout downtown and within the convention center.

Team San Jose is also addressing hunger in the local community and reducing waste at the McEnery Convention Center by donating its unused food to local nonprofit organizations through the use of technology. By partnering with Hunger at Home, a new initiative that combats hunger and homelessness in the local community, as well an app called Waste No Food, this initiative has provided over 1 million meals in San Jose.

After the convention, explore downtown’s 250+ dining and nightlife options in Japantown San Jose, or San Pedro Square. Stroll along an eclectic strip of museums and galleries in SoFA District, interact with the valley’s latest tech gadgets at the Tech Museum of Innovation, and experience vibrant performing arts and entertainment throughout the city – all within walking distance from the Convention Center.

In San Jose’s surrounding areas be sure to visit award-wining wineries, go hiking among the Santa Cruz Mountains redwoods, or geek out with a tech themed itinerary by exploring Silicon Valley landmarks including Apple, Google, and Facebook.

“Before, they lacked an expedient way to get rid of food,” says Kiran Sridhar, the 18-year-old founder of Waste No Food, “For a stadium or a banquet hall, it’s culturally unacceptable for them to run out, but it wouldn’t be efficient for them to every day call every single charity to find out who would take it. There’s a time limit. Food goes bad.”...
